superheroes

by Frank

Hello,

Currently I'm working with director Jamie Caliri on some comic stuff for the upcoming Adventures of Kavalier & Clay movie. I'm not allowed to post any of the work for that because of copyright issues, but I can post some superhero type stuff that I've done that helped me get the job. None of this stuff was done for print, keep in mind, they're all conceptual drawings and paintings.

What a change from what I'm used to seeing of yours. The Batman cityscape/battle drawing kicks ass!

Damn, these are really nice Frank.
It sort of reminds me of some of your older sketchbook drawings you would do at art center (back when you drew more of the form).

The best thing of all, is the simplicity of the designs and the composition.

Beautiful work Frank, I love em. :)

Frank,

this is work is beautiful. I've always liked your drawings, but this is just out of this world. I hope you continue to push this great attention to composition/action/drama. I think it's such a great strength to have.

hey frank - original distortion on the mainstream imagery. especially the big detailed one - you took all the cliches out of it but kept the adrenalin high - great work.
